Noʻenoʻe Lole: Printmaking and Textiles – Summer
Class info:
This summer, you’re invited to explore art through printmaking and textiles in a hands-on program designed for high school ʻōpio. You’ll learn how imagery, pattern, and texture come together to create wearable pieces and display-ready works that reflect your identity and creativity.
Blending modern techniques with time-honored Hawaiian ways of making, this program encourages experimentation and creative play. You’ll explore different printmaking and textile processes, learning how designs move from concept to finished piece.
A highlight of the program is a special collaboration with Honolulu Printmakers. You’ll learn the fundamentals of silkscreen printing and apply those skills by printing your own custom fabrics. Along the way, you’ll build technical skills, learn studio practices, and gain confidence working with professional tools and materials.
This program is about more than making art. It’s about expression, collaboration, and storytelling. You’ll work alongside peers, share ideas, and support one another as you create pieces that can be worn, shared, or showcased.
Whether you’re new to printmaking or already love creating art, this space welcomes you. Come ready to explore, experiment, and create work that carries your voice, your story, and your style.
