Mana Media: Broadcasting Moʻolelo
Class info:
This program puts microphones in the hands of Kamalei and invites them to tell real stories that matter. In a safe and supportive space, youth learn how sound, words, and culture come together to carry moʻolelo forward.
Kamalei build skills in audio production, scripting, interviewing, and digital editing through hands on projects guided by caring adults and trusted mentors. Every session happens in a consistent environment where collaboration and creativity are valued.
You will plan segments, record audio, interview people, edit stories, meet new people, and work as a team to produce a weekly podcast or broadcast style show shared throughout the center.
Kamalei grow confidence, communication skills, and a sense of belonging while creating media that reflects their lived experiences, perspectives, and community connections.
